Comment by Janae Jaynes-Learned on January 18, 2013 at 12:05pm Be sure to visit www.asugreek.com and have your son fill out the registration form prior to rush. They have an opportunity to attend a variety of events throughout the week to get to know everyone and decide the best fit for them. Many of them will have the events posted on their home pages or FB pages.
Hi,
My son is interested in going through rush as a Sophomore. Does anyone have any advice or info?
thanks!

My son is in Phi Gamma Delta (FIJI) and can speak to his experience for you. It truly is a lifelong brotherhood. They are really a close group and truly support one another in school and beyond. They have Linkedin groups for career support for when they graduate as well. Philanthropy and cooperation with other Greeks is an important aspect as well.
The initiation process is intense and time consuming at times and study time and grade requirements are strict.
Don't get me wrong, they make PLENTY of time for fun!
Comment by Pamela Dawson on December 12, 2012 at 12:06pm Thanks Cameron for the link. I have visited the site. As an Australian, I know nothing about the Greek System. I was hoping someone could let me know about the benefits/ problems associated with being in a Fraternity, and in particular, what issues led to Delta Sigma Phi being off campus. I've read as much as I can absorb online about history etc but would like to get some feedback from other parents new to fraternities, or those who have some personal connection to a frat.
Comment by Cameron Warner on December 12, 2012 at 11:14am Hi Pamela:
You are correct; Delta Sigma Phi left campus years ago and their headquarters started a new chapter this semester. It's an entirely different group of men with new advisors and support.
You can always learn about the sororities and fraternities at Arizona State University by visiting www.asugreek.com; we have a list of current chapters, policies and expectations, information for families, disciplinary statuses, and academic reports for our community online.
