Comment by Shelly McIntosh on June 7, 2013 at 10:36am Oh - thanks for telling us. I hadn't done it this year, assumed the same thing. I will do it today. SIGH. One more thing to crank out this week. :) Still a little bouncy from finding out she got that Summer Grant though... :)
Comment by Amanda Schwarzer on June 7, 2013 at 10:32am Diane, apparently it does...I had figured if we weren't getting a loan it wasn't necessary. Turns out any scholarship is considered financial aide so yes, it needs to be filled out. Luckily it's not too late to do it (the deadline was only if you wanted a parent plus loan I believe). Did ours this week.

Comment by Shelly McIntosh on June 7, 2013 at 9:18am Does anyone know where we can go to get info on scholarships that our kids have been awarded? My daughter has the Provost scholarship and is taking summer school. There was no mention of funds available for summer school so we thought it was all out of pocket but when I went to pay today, I found that she had a summer grant. I am not questioning it (I am grateful) but I sure would like to know where to go to understand how this all works. My daughter said a grant was never mentioned when she was in the advisor's office and she never received an email. When I go on her MY ASU on the finance tab, it just says it is a summer grant. If I had paid the bill yesterday we would have really been messed up. As it is I already paid partially so it looks like I won't get the difference between what was given and what we "over" paid. I'm not complaining - any help is great. But if I had understood how it all worked... well, you know.
Comment by Cynthia L Miconi on May 8, 2013 at 2:13pm Well, might have my son check out University Towers, as not to sure about his choice in Cholla. He got along with his roomate so well that they are housing together next year! Cant wait for him to get home. He moves out tomorrow as he had a job with ASU and had to finish up with that first. I dont think move out tomorrow will be that bad. His roomate has already gone home. Dad and Mom will be doing most of his moving as he hurt his heel in NROTC the week before and is not allowed to walk on it without crutches. I was very happy with his NROTC. He hurt his heel going over a wall with 50lb pack and they step right up to covere all the expenses with Urgent Care as this was an official NROTC activity. Hope to talk with all of you again next year.
My I suggest, if you have the time, log into the class of 2017 and help the new parents out that are coming in next year. They are asking about what dorm rooms look like, things that their son/daughter will really need or use during the year. Books, meals, etc. ALL the things we went through last year. They could really use our help. Have a great and safe summer!!
