Comment by Joan Lima yesterday: Cindy - We did Home2Home last year and everything worked like it was supposed to. You print the air bills, call UPS or bring your boxes to a UPS store; and ship them in time for them to be received by their deadline. Last year the deadline was the first Friday in August; it only takes 2 days for boxes to get from Las Vegas to Phoenix so we shipped our on the Wednesday; I called the UPS store at Hassy that Friday and the manager confirmed that they were there; and when my husband & son checked into the dorm, they were already in the room. We shipped 5 boxes plus a TV. No drama at all.

Comment by Zachary Reeves-Blurton on Wednesday: Cindy -- the Home 2 Home shipping option is great for students moving their belongings long distances. At this time it is only available to students on the Tempe and Polytechnic campuses (it's a partnership with UPS, so proximity of UPS stores factors into our ability to offer it). If your daughter is in Barrett at Tempe or Poly, you might look into the option: http://www.asuhome2home.com/.

It has definitely helped me a lot (since my daughter forgets to share this info with me ... lol). @Zachary, are you familiar with the Home 2 Home shipping option and do they do this for Barrett students?

Comment by Zachary Reeves-Blurton on Wednesday: Sheila, last year the Downtown campus had a similar event set up, but due to very low attendance it is not being held this year. However, many students take the light rail directly from the Downtown campus to the Christown shopping center for supplies. They have a Target, Walmart, Costco, and a number of other stores.

Comment by Joan Lima on Wednesday: Janet - The BBB store isn't close. You will need to rent a car to get there. However, the new "Walmart on Campus" store is supposed to offer website shopping that you can pick up at their store; and it's supposed to be close in the Vista del Sol complex. Good luck!
